We wish to inform you that the Legislative Decree n. 196 of 30 June 2003 (“Code regarding the protection of personal data”) provides for the protection of persons and other subjects regarding the processing of personal data. Cookies are divided into “session” and “persistent”, the first once downloaded are then deleted when the browser is closed, while the second are stored on the hard disk of the user / visitor until they expire.
Persistent cookies are mainly used to facilitate site navigation, to understand which sections of the site have generated a certain number of pages and users.
Cookies can always be deactivated (opt-out) even when they are anonymous, ie they do not collect personal information that can lead to the identification of the user (eg the IP address). In this regard it is emphasized that browser data possibly identified (personally identifiable information: PII) through a cookie cannot be traced back to the user and is not collected. Session cookies, on the other hand, are mainly used during authentication, authorization and navigation in the services accessed through a registration.
