Friday 11 and 18 September at Fattoria Santo Stefano in Greve in Chianti: two evenings dedicated to tasting some of the Farm’s “special” wines, accompanied with the authentic flavours of the Chiantigiana land and with art.

September is harvest time, and what better way to celebrate this magical moment of our Tuscan culture than drinking some excellent wine, paired with traditional Chiantigiana dishes, right in the vineyard?

This wonderful experience will be possible on two exclusive evenings, for a limited number only, on the 11 and 18 September 2020. You’ll be surrounded by the rows of grape laden vines of the Fattoria Santo Stefano in Greve in Chianti and covered in the light of the beautiful sunset over the Chianti hills. The notes of a guitar and violin will make the magical atmosphere complete.

“We have organised these two evenings to showcase the flavours of our land,” Elena, Chiara and Agostino Bendinelli describe. “During these events, our guests will be able to taste wines from some of our best years of Chianti Classico Riserva Il Drugo and Gran Selezione. They will be paired with traditional homemade Tuscan dishes, all made with farm-to-table (zero kilometre) ingredients.”

It will be an opportunity to taste or discover (for those who don’t know them yet) the flavours and recipes which characterise this small plot of land in the Chianti. Some examples are Pasta e Ceci (pasta with chickpeas), Trippa alla Fiorentina (Florentine tripe), Peposo (peppered beef muscle stew) or Francesina, a traditional recipe with boiled meat leftovers.

The evenings’ live music will be provided by Lorenzo Pampaloni (on the classical guitar) and Isacco Burchietti (on the violin).
On the 11 September, we will be joined by the Florentine painter Marco Burchi (well-known for his particular technique using soil from Florence), who will give a live “performance.” On the 18 September, the Florentine actor Roberto Andrioli will perform various pieces from the traditional Italian comedy theatre of Commedia dell’Arte.

In the event of bad weather conditions, the evenings will be held inside the villa, in full compliance with national regulations relating to the control of the Covid-19 pandemic.
